Snacks….

So what do you snack on? Do you snack on fatty foods that will not satisfy such as cheetos, candy bars, doritos, etc? Or do you choose satisfying foods to snack on? Have you ever thought of something high in protein and Fiber to snack on? I choose snacks that satisfy, so I am not hungry a hour later. Some of my snacks are as follows.

Cheese Sticks
FiberOne Bars
Yogurt
AppleSauce

Choose what works for you, but choose snacks that satisfy and fulfill you and not something that craves your taste, but just makes you hungry a hour or s later.

Trigger foods. Resist them or use them as rewards?

Yesterday I was in the grocery store and saw some Ben & Jerry Ice Creams on sale (2 for the price of one).  To many Ben & Jerry ice cream is very tasty, and a trigger food that will gain them weight.  A flavor I saw has 24G of fat!!!! This is heavy in fat compared to the most rich of frozen Yogurt which has 5G of fat. Even the frozen yogurt version of that Ben & Jerry ice cream (with 24G of FAT) has only 3-5G of FAT. So if you are someone that has a hard time resisting certain foods, then your best bet is to keep them out of the house! Who knows if you stocked up on trigger foods you may end up eating them all without realizing it, which would unfortunately result in a weight gain. So be smart and avoid trigger foods if you cannot resist them. If you can resist them, and are disciplined enough, then use them as treats and or rewards for positive behavior. For example you could reward yourself for losing weight, for taking a long walk/run, etc.. The possibilities are endless on how to reward yourself.

Maintaining proper control of your diet

Some say that I am too obsessed with losing weight. I know how to maintain control of my diet as I did yesterday at a pool party with my churches singles group ministry. I used some of my weeklies but could only eat eat half of my cheeseburger, probably due to my new conditioning in eating only fish & boca burgers. So when tempted to eat by social pressures its important to be able to socialize, but also to maintain proper control over what you eat, and to eat food in appropriate servings sizes as I believe I did yesterday. But if all else fails, then good exercise throughout the week would be a way to burn off the calories.
